Can chalice stovetops overheat and break?

My daughter heard a pop from the cup stovetop, it cracked and sort of melted, have this happened to anyone earlier?

i wouldnt recommend using glass stovetops. they are greatly dangerous. they look sleek, yes, but they can be potentially unwholesome.
Yes, they will crack if you use cast iron skillets, because the skillet additionally get too hot. I have have the glass top for eight years and it is great. Sorry you own had discouraging luck.
