What are some professional associations for residential designers?

I am a residential designer interested in any groups that promote professional business practices, education and cooperation.

You can join the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) which is an excellent organization that is very helpful in all of those areas. There is also Interior Design Educator's Council, International Federation of Interior Architects & Designers, International Interior Design Association and the International Continuing Education Council.

Check your local Chamber of Commerce. Our local office has a "hob-nob" night every Wednesday. Great place to network and meet people who belong to associations of which you speak.

They are not an association per se, but it looks like if you attend a confrence or two that again, you would be with people who are motivated and proffessional. Project Management is a broad field. I'm in construction and I've found this helpful.
