How do I get rid from ants in my kitchen, I don't want to use pesticides or contaminate my food?
Help!!!!!
Answers:
20 Mule Team Borax Laundry soap, put it in one of the ketchup squirt bottles that you can purchase at one of the dollar stores, apply dry soap along base boards, cabinets etc. The ants will carry it back to their nest and it will kill them plus you can use the rest of the laundry soap in the box to do laundry. Vacuum up excess laundry powder when you no longer see any signs of ants, I have used this remedy for years and my grandmother also used it.

try raid ant killer (country scent) i had that same problem and raid did the job.

mix together apple jelly and boric acid powder (this is not a pesticide, and will not contaminate). Put this mixture on a bit of aluminum foil and place in the corners of your countertops.
boiling water (eeekkk!) did it for me
You can try reasoning with them. But if you want them gone, it's pesticides or nothing.
Best wishes and God bless.
Mix borax and sugar
dish soap and water in a spray bottle will do the trick and no pesticides!
You can put ant "houses" down by the pet food (if you have any) under the refrigerator or freezer, in the corners or in cupboards. They are little discs that have poison inside that attract the ants and they are easy to remove (about the size of a small coaster) and won't contaminate food or harm pets. A local hardware store or a store like K-Mart or Wal-Mart might have something in stock - ask a salesperson for assitance.
you can also try to find what it is they are eating in your kitchen. If there was no way for them to get food they would never be any ants in there.
at my fathers place it was an uncovered sugar dish.
I use those ant traps around the kitchen and ant stakes around the outside of the house. Someone told me that talcum powder around where the ants come in works. Around drain pipes.
ever seen a hedg-ball, it comes from a bush,or tree,it grows in the country along fences, stop and ask one of your local farmers, tell them your problem, they might suggest hedgeballs, if they have any, its about the size of a softball green andwhen you cut them open it excludes a white milky substance that just pulls any bug in, put them in your basement around the foundation, its also good on beetles and box-elder bugs, thats corn beetles which are orange and black and they bite, they keep mosquitoes away also! and garbage beeles.
What color are the ants? Because if they are red/brown in color, they may be pharaoh ants and they are hard to get rid of because they are attracted to proteins and sugar. Not all ants can be killed by those little ant disks. Cover up the bread and the sugary things and even meat.
Thankfully this only happened to me one time but its terrible! I couldn't use pesticides either because I had animals that eat anything that is on the floor, sooo---- Make sure you clean everything up. I found where the ants were coming from (my back porch) and made sure I kept the door closed. I found these really really sticky papers and put them near there, also I used Raid spikes outside near were they were coming. Without using pesticides it's really hard to get rid of them fast. I'm not sure of why you don't want to use them, but you can sometimes find Diaznon granules to sprinkle around outside. The ants will find them and take them to the nest so they shouldn't bring any in the house or contaminate your food. They usually only stay for a few days. Hang in there!
