AHH! ANT INVASION? What do I do? How do I get rid of those ants once and for all?

My family and I once had a really bad ant problem. It was TERRIBLE!! What we did 2 get rid of them was we would leave some food(or leftovers) out in a container(one we didn't use much) and then spray "ant killer"(Raid, like a spray 2 kill ants) all around it and keep doing that until all the ants were gone. I have found the types of poison they take back to their ant lair works nicely, because multiple ants digest it, and within a few uses usualyl can wipe out an entire colony. So avoid the traps where they cant get back out to go back to their colony.

This is gonna sound crazy, but I swear it works. Put a chalk line around your baseboards or wherever it is the ants are coming in from. Ants will not cross chalk. Don't know why, so don't ask, but I swear it works.
I've try this and it works. If you just want to get rid of them. Don't care if you kill them. Put baby powder where ever you don't want then. It makes a mess ,but it's safe and makes your home smell nice.
My mom uses White Vinegar,full strength and sprays it over the counter tops and inside her cabinets. It not only gets rid of her ants but the spiders as well. She sprays it about once a week.
first go to walmart and buy ant hotels found in the cleaning department then put a chalk line on your counter top ledge and window baseboards and every where else that the chalk will ahear to that way you kill them and you keep them from getting to your food good luck and scrub out your kitch cabinets as well that will help get rid of them
I've been dealing with that too. Make sure to rinse coke cans out as they really attract ants if left out.
I just tried mixing Borax in grape jelly and canned cat food per a book on pest control, but the ants steer clear of the borax. It is good therfore at keeping them away, but I want to kill the colony.
What I then used is a Gormet Ant Bail Jel that comes with a syring and you just shoot a little down the cracks you see them at and they take it to the nest.
My dad sprays this insect repellent on the outside window sills, where he thinks they come from. It stinks but it kinda works. There are less ants than there used to be.
Borax. Put it in a place where they will move through it and carry it back to their nest.
