Whats the best type of low maintenance houseplant to have?
Answers:
fake!!!! the only thing you need to do is clean it. how to clean it> brown paper bag, salt and plant. place salt in bag then plant up side down close and shake bag, IT will come out clean. And that's all you need pretty fake plants or flowers.

How about a silk tree or bush! No watering, no sunlight needed. Just dust if off every once in a while!
Cane Plant..sometimes called a corn plant
Peace lilly
I have lots of plants but most of them I'm not quite sure what they are. Go to your local nursury and just look around. They usually have the sticks in the soil that will tell you the amt of light it needs, how often you have to water it etc...that's the way I learned..Good Luck!
Personally, if you want low maintenance, I'd go to a craft store, pick out some silk flowers you like, and a nice container, and ask them to make an arrangement for you. It would be a bit pricey, but, the good ones look real, and are NO maintenance (except for shaking the dust off once in a while). Or if you have a talented friend, maybe they could do the arrangement for you.
pothos,it is low maintenance, doesnt need much light, and cuttings can be rooted in a glass of water the tranfered to soil with no problems.a hanging planter works best.then i trail the stems over the picture frames and other stuff hanging on the walls.they have really grown fast.i started with two and in about 6 months i now have 5 that i have grown from cuttings of the original 2.
Do not get a Venus FlyTrap--huge maitenance and probably won't shut its trap. fake ones are nice.
