Is it better to leave air conditioning on low or turn it off?
Answers:
Well, it depends upon the air conditioner, & how long you are going to leave it running on low, if the air conditioner draws a lot of current on initial start, & you're going to leave it running on low for a short time, it's better to leave it running on low. If you're going to leave it running for a long time, don't run it at all. Some air conditioners don't use much power at all on initial start, on those, save energy by turning them off. You can know this by looking at the specifications on your air conditioner.
Other answers:
you should leave it on because if you turn it off then you'll get hot and end up turning it back on again.

you should leave it on because when the house gets hot again it uses twice the energy to re-cool the house.
leave it on low. it will take more energy to turn it off then back on. you will have to re-cool the entire house which costs more money.
if ur not gonna be at home make it a point 2 tur off ur electrical gadgets no matter what they are.this is coz aircons can catch fire.be careful.nothing worth losing ur life.take care.
If you are going to be away for a considerable period of time, then you must not leave any appliances turned on. This can leave an opening for an electrical problem that you can't resolve. However, if you have a house with an attic, then a low air conditioning system will have to be on during the summer months. Those areas absolutely hold too much heat. You don't want anything combustible going on with your house. Other than this particular matter, if you are just a few minutes away, get a remote that can turn on the air conditioner, etc. You will be nice and cool when you arrive at your residence. Your electric bill will definitely be much lower. Peace and God Bless.
If you leave for the day you should "bump" the Thermostat up to atleast 75-80. This would allow you to still maintain a reasonable temp in the house and the compressor would not have to work so hard (as opposed to turning it off)to cool the home off when your return.
