you can try that, just make sure you aint got natural gas lines nearby, or you can even stick a garden hose down there and flood it.
If it really is a bees nest, not a wasp or hornets nest, then DON'T kill it off - our crops nationwide are actually endangered by a lack of bees just now. However, bees, as far as I know, don't nest underground. If you find it is a wasp nest, wait until after dark when they are not active. Don't use gas, douse the nest instead with a powerful wasp and hornet killer. You will need to use a couple of cans of the stuff to douse it with. I have done this and it is effective. Using gas and lighting it, you risk a pretty big fire and a pretty big fine from the fire department if it gets out of hand.
I use butane fuel to freeze them first and then light it. Don't try this at home folks!
No, it;s not. Flood them out. STick a hose in the hole late at night when they are all in the hive and then turn it on.
