i have a house plant that looks like a cross between an aloe and a mother-in-laws toung?

this plant has round dark and light green striped stalks like a mother-in-laws toung but the stalks are round like aloe. they are not a succulant. they are more woody like a type of grass. the stalks grow to over three feet so far.
