My vegetable garden has been sabotaged. This is my first garden so I have no idea what has happend,?

Sounds to me like you might have a deer coming into your garden. They will eat the tops off of your plants. You might look on the ground around in your garden for foot prints. It might have been squirrels also, but most likely a deer. A big fence will help, and keep anything out, but it might be to late for the garden this year. I had mine eaten down by my horses one year, but it was early spring and I replanted. Good luck and I hope that you can find your pruner, before they eat more...

Not enough information. It doesn't sound like dog damage although I have known dogs who liked to eat apples and other fruit. Are you near an open area with rabbits, raccoons, deer? Even field mice and rats can chow down on veggies.

could be rabbits ,
put your dog house Near the garden , Fido will keep the rabbits away ,
and could be cut worms , try dusting with sevin dust , . it will wash off in the rain and wont stay to long ,
also try liming the garden , to help eliminate rot ,
its probably rabbits or groundhogs............ good luck keeping them out of the garden
