Researching for above ground pool purchase? any advice?
Answers:
Best above ground pool on the market is Doughboy. Period. They have a huge assortment of styles and sizes available. Problem with waiting too long is the most popular pool sizes and models get sold out (for the year). So you might have to settle on something you really don't want. Give them a go.
Other answers:
We have a 30 foot AGP. I LOVE it. It's toooo big though. To pay for chemicals is rediculously expensive, not to mention water. Having my pool I would say to consider these things:
WAIT for the pool sales, at this rate it will probably be a week or two to come out and put it in. Then a day or two to fill. Then it takes consistent nights at over 70 and days of HOT DIRECT sunlight to bring it up to swimmable temps. We could not swim comfortably this summer until late June and we are in Virginia! When the water is below about 80 degrees, its just not comfy swimming.
DO get it professionally installed. Its worth the money..you will see for yourself when they come out to do it. The ground has to be PERFECTLY level or your pool can come down because it's not consistently heavy all the way around.
DO get a plastic white top rail. When you go to the pool place, if the pools are outside, you will notice that you can't lean on the toprails if they are metal. The sun makes them scalding. Not good for kids or adults!
DO get the blue mats for floaties. All the blowup ones are fun (I suggest the smart floats over others at walmart) but the blue camping style mat that is foam with a plasticy surface, about 1 1/2 inches thick or so...lasts for years and can't get a hole.
Good luck with your pool, I love ours. I have only seen anyone with a round pool and there are tons of them around here. Probably a reason for that.

The best above ground is.... the one that suits you best. There are many quality manufacturers out there, Doughboy, Cornelius, SwimnPlay, Cantar ,Seaspray , Garden Lesiure, Shark and more. All these pools are manufactured basically in the same way. There are Pools made of all steel , resin, aluminum and wood. And the best pool is the one that suits you.
Price is not always a determining factor, some pools like doughboy are sold in a dealer network and are available only from "qualified" dealers and only at the price set by the manufacturers. Other pools are available for much less price, but similar quality.Of all the manufacturers listed above, for reasons more aesthetic than quality. I like Doughboy, Seaspray and Cornelius the best.
I sell Cornelius Pools factory direct, but any one of those pools mentioned above will be fine.
