how do i turn my work after the first row knit stitches?

JUST LEARNED last night to cast on and knit first row.
can't figure out how to start the knit stitch after turning the needle to the oppisite hand.
please don't tell me to switch hands and just leave it at thart, i tried that for four hours last night!
once i get it to the opposite hand, excactly how do i start the stitch for the second row.
i know not to 'turn the stitches', but how do you avoid that when switching hands?
help im going bananas here!!

I'm not sure what the problem is, I guess I don't understand the question.... you just flip the work to the other hand, insert the needle into the stitch and go. about.com has an excellent knitting section with little videos you can watch to learn how to knit.
