I have a very good friend who just purchased a rehab in a different town?
Answers:
Well, loving someone is something but trying to make them face reality is another thing all together! Been there, so know it. Best thing is to create alternatives in your own head, something practical even, such as finding a temporary place of stay for her and her family, but holding back until she asks for help. I know this sounds heartless and I know you love her so much...but there is such a thing as gratuitous advice!!

You didn't say what type of winter you are facing, but if she's willing to live in construction, she'll be fine. As long as her mechanicals (plumbing, heating, and electrical) are in order, they'll be fine. It's not fun living with bare insulation for walls, but it's do-able. However once they move in, the work will progress much slower. It's tougher to work around your stuff than an empty house.
