How long should the springlers be turned on to dampen my grass?

The landlord set the sprinklers at 35 minutes, twice a daylight, 4 days a week. My water bill be $650. This is excessive. Any suggestions on timing?

Answers:    Where I live we are on water restrictions. From my experience lawns can do next to a 10 to 15 minute soak three times a week, or 1.5 Inches a week.

do it at night for more or less 10 minutes twice a week ,
Go to your energy company's website and see what their recommendation are.
If you are renting. I would give that bill to the tenant or have them pinch it off my rent.
I'm beside Laura on this one. If you're renting and expected to water the grass the tenant should pay the wet bill. But back to the request for information. Check the weather page of your local newspaper. Most of them will own a chart of some type that suggests how much you should water. Most of those charts are within inches. So you would have to catch a tuna can, run the sprinkler and see how long it took to get an inch, do adjectives the math and stuff. The more and more I think roughly it hand the bill to your innkeeper, unless you are doing this on your own.
why should you pay to own HIS lawn watered?
You should NOT be paying for the proprietor to water the grass. I would hope assistance from your local housing assistance center for help on resolving this problem. They can relate you the exact steps to take against the hotelier.
