What's the scariest snake you have ever seen in its natural habitat? Not at a Zoo.?

I found a rattlesnake sunning itself on my sidewalk.
Not a comforting feeling.

Yep. Rattlesnake on my deck has to have been the worst.
Black Snake, on my aunts porch. It was about 7ft long and decided to take up residence on her porch swing.
Me and a buddy went swimming in a lake. We decide to swim out to the middle of the lake where there was a very small island, not even really big enough for the two of us to stand. It had a small bush right in the center of it. So anyway, after we swam out there and stood up on the island, we hear this hissing sound, so we start looking around and see this big fat black water moccasin looking straight at us, like 6-10 inches away just waiting to strike.

we were really lucky it didnt hit us, we were well within range. =\
I love snakes. Where I live rattlesnakes are pretty plentiful and although I've had a couple of close surprise encounters while ratting around in the desert, the species we have here isn't particularly aggressive or deadly venomous as rattlesnakes go, and I've never been too scared. In fact I usually can't pass up an opportunity to get a stick and harass them so they coil up and buzz and put on a good show. Lots of times you can't even get them to get mad, and they just try to escape.

So, I went to visit a friend that had moved to central Florida to go to college, and one day while he was in class I decided to go explore a small lake near by and see what kinds of cool critters I might find. Like I said I love snakes, so when I came up on a snake sunning itself in the grass by the water I got pretty excited. As I got closer I realized that it was a water moccasin. I thought "alright !" I had read and seen on TV, how when they are mad they will coil up and open their mouth which is white inside (thus the name cotton mouth) and hiss and strike and put on a good show. I quietly looked around and found a good stick longer than the snake and tip toed over to it. The snake was between me and the lake, with its head toward the water and its tail toward me. I slowly reached over and gave it a gentle poke by the head with the stick, expecting it to coil up into a defensive posture. It must not have known I was there because I took it completely by surprise, and instead of coiling up, it spun around and lunged the full length of its body straight toward me. It wasn't a strike. It was just trying to escape, but before I knew what happened, its head was right at my feet.
It scared the sh*t out of me and I automatically tried to jump back, but both of my feet slid on the grass and I just shot up and landed flat on my back. Now I couldn't see the snake and I knew I had had it. I scrambled backward on my hands, and kicking with my feet I did a frantic, flailing, crab walk away from where I had last seen the snake. I got maybe ten feet and stopped to see where the snake was, and it had turned around and slithered into the water. I was gasping for air and pumped with adrenalin, but as I saw I was out of danger, I just sat there and tried to get a grip, and catch my breath.

That was when I had my first encounter with thousands of angry fire ants, as I was sitting right in the middle of their hill.
A Patrick Jackson better known as a Fat Pat I was in Longview on High street. the meanest dag-gum snake I ever came across.. Never want to see it again. It was captured and is in an exibbit at Dawson State Jail. But they wont hold it very much longer. Hide your money. And if you own a store you better lock your doors. If you have any thing of any importance you better lock it up.. If you are a crack smoker you better head my worning, for this snake will do ANY thing for crack!
A cotton mouth moccasin that dropped into the boat with me as I went under an over hanging branch. You can really get out of a boat really fast if you have to.
Being that I hate snakes, they are all scary to me. However, I have come across rattle snakes, copper heads and water moccasins in the wild. The only other venomous snake here in Oklahoma is the coral snake but they are rare.
