Can you amount out what happen to these bees?

They were bees that nested surrounded by the ground in a Michigan suburb, and sometime I found them all dug up. No one surrounded by my family dug them up, and we reflect an animal might have done this, but we don't know what brand of animal or why. What really happened?

Answers:    I've never hear of "bees" nesting in the ground. Wasp do. Many animals might verbs up something because they can hear the noise that we can't. It could be a dog or cat from the neighborhood, or if you own wildlife foxes, raccoons and skunks. If they are bees any of the wild animals could smell the honey. Got any bear.
It's the Chupacabra!! (It's been lurking around lately).
Bet it be a local exterminator. Check w/ your county and see of someone complained about them.
