A practical use for old nylons?
Answers:
You can use then in the Garder, to tie up Tomato, or to use over top of cucumber squash, any vegetable that has set and you want to prevent bugs from damaging them, they will keep growing, but bugs can not bite them. Also you can use them as strainers (after they are washed)for canning, paint, or solutions (non-acid). In case of emergency, they make a good sling for arms, just pull one leg into the other, place on arm with hand into sling, than pull arm as long as possible, drape over shoulder, and safety pin to waist band.

Keep an old pair in the car In an emergency it can replace an S belt.
I use them to dust my vegetables. I cut of the foot end & about 12 inches of the leg. I dump a couple cups of vegetable dust (I use sevin dust) into the sock, knot the top & I am ready to go.
I walk the rows holding the knot and when I want to dust give a short jerk up & down & a minature cloud of dust comes through the mesh covering the plants lightly & evenly. It works wonderful, much better then a commercial duster & free. You can easily control how light or heavy you want the dust.
