Who are those eggs that are attached to the root of the plant?

I bought a couple of indoor plants today - peacy lily and majestic palm. When I was trying to move them to the pot, I noticed a lot of eggs attached to the roots of the plants. I saw a couple of catterpillars in the soil. Could you tell me what the eggs are? And how I can get rid of them? I love the plants but don't want any bugs inside of my house.

Answers:
some plants make tubers that will be attached to the plant's roots (kinda like potatoes) on the peace lily it could also be the start of a new bulb. as far as the palm goes i'm not too sure on those but to get rid of the grubs you can get dianthizone (ask someone at home depot or lowes) just a capful will take care of those little boogers.

potatoes
i couldn't tell you..but i think your best bet is to call the place you bought them and ask them..or better yet..take them back to the place with eggs in tow and show them.
