how do I get rid of all these spiders? they have little bodies and long legs and create loads of cob webs?

I have only had these spiders in the house this year, they are horrible and are everywhere. Their bodies are small but they have really long legs and make cob webs everywhere, as soon as you get rid of the cob webs they are making new ones, they are also outside in the shed so are not particular to the house. Any suggestions

just before summer I heard or read somewhere that there would be a bumper crop of predatory insects and spiders this year because of an explosion of flies and parasites. Nature adjusts herself when it's needed and when there's no interference. If you dont like them brush them out of the house, I'd leave them in the shed unless you want a shed load of nastier creepies next spring. Also, this autumn there will be many more wasps than usual, the larger webs do manage to entangle their legs and the spider is able to avoid being stung by moving in at the correct angle. I can understand your feeling grossed by the big black hairy spiders but these 'wolf' spiders are actually less harmful than the spindly ones you describe. The webs when vacated can be cleaned away, preferable to breathing in nerve gas and destroying everything from the good to the bad.

Leave them. Would you rather a house full of flies? Spiders are actually lovely creatures with good natures. Infact they wouldn't hurt a fly!!

I think some storesare selling some sort of a "spider duster." It attracts webs by using static electricity and such. Arachnophobis should use it. Just look up on the internet about this product coz i am not really sure.
They are house spiders, industrious little buggers, was thinking of giving each of them in my house a paint brush, would get the house painted top to bottom in one night. Seriously though, I think you can get a smoke bomb type of thing from a vet which will rid the house of all creepy crawlies (except cockroaches - they are hard!) trouble is you have to vacate the house for a day at least.
try spraying an insecticide called rentokil which you can get from any diy hard ware store or B&Q
It is a little known fact that spiders hate the smell of lemons. Cut a lemon in half and rub it on the inside frames of your doors and windows (not the outside frames or it will get washed away!), the spiders wont cross the invisible residue of the lemon, it will leave your house smelling fresh and it doesn't harm them! There, everyones happy!
hoover?
get rid of mites and other insects and they are sure to starve to death.
I want to know the answer to this question too!!
This year here in Bexley Kent we have the same prob ,everytime I hang out washing I have to get rid of 100's of little cobwebs ???? Also in the house grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

you can buy a little gadget that you plug into the mains in your house and it give off a ultra sonic noise you cant hear it but all the insects can and dont like it so they pack there bags and move 100 mtrs away try this first as i got nothing against spiders in me house as they keep other things away
