"Don't move wood, it bugs me" I've seen this sign....what's it mean?
Answers:
The sign is part of a campaign to keep down the spread of the emerald ash borer insect. It resides in dead wood and is easily moved around the country as campers bring firewood with them camping during the summer. The insect is projected to be more destructive than Dutch Elm disease was 25 years ago. There are heavy fines for violating the wood inspection stations in Michigan.

haha, i think it means you shouldnt move the wood because it irritates the owner of the wood.
there has been a lot of trouble lately with a certain type of bug that makes holes in wood and eventually causes it all to decay. it tends to live in pieces of wood, such as firewood. when we move the wood, we help to spread the bugs. which is very bad. we want to keep them contained so that more places aren't damaged.
I think there's a particular, destructive beetle that is being spread throughout the country by chopping wood from one state and moving it to another. I'm not sure what the insect is however.
state departments of natural resources are trying to halt the migration of the emerald ash borer -- very destructive to living forestry and hitchhiking thru the midwest on firewood
