Creeping red fescue is good, lots of it up north of Edmond where I live. Neighbor across the street has a fully wooded lot, and nice green lawn. Does take a lot of water, but given the almost nonexistent rainfall, what doesn't!
Best bet is to plant in late august or september. I have tried it in the Spring, but sometimes like this year the spring rains don't come. You can find it easily at Lowes; Walmart carries it too but they tend to get rid of lawn stuff early for the xmas stuff.
