Rinse thoroughly, remove tails and stems. Cut or break into 2 in. pieces. Steaam for 4 min. Immerse in cold water immediately after steaming to stop the cooking. Drain. Put proper meal size poryions infreezer bag. Remove air from the bag by rollong up from bottom to foce air out, seal and freeze immediately. Oh, be dure to label bags before filling. Put contents and date frozen on the bag. Steaming preserves more of the vitamins. Excuse my typos..not one of my skills.

I have never blanched a veg yet and I never have any problems.
I was told that if you plunge veg into hot water first it kill some of the goodness out of them.
I just prepare them as if I was going to cook them and then lay them on a baking tray and freeze them, when frozen bag them up. Laying then on a baking tray first lets them freeze without sticking together and so you don't have a problem getting just a few at a time out of the bag.
don't bother not good frozen .only grow what you can eat or give them away. You can get string less beans in most supermarkets all year .
