They sell oil absorbant at the Auto Supply. Use that. Or sand.
Check with your local auto parts store. They often have cleaners that will do the job for you.
You can get something from the likes of B&Q
oil absorbant
Try to dry it up with rags then use, Mineral Spirits, get the no smell version.
loads of neat washing up liquid, let it sit for ten minutes.Rub it well in with a stiff broom, then wash it all away with lots of water.
Call the fire department.
They'll love to do something else then putting a fire out.
They'll put an absorbent on it.
Talk about their great fire truck, make some jokes, ask for a ride, and you have new friends.
Doing it this way, if you call them when your kitchen is on fire, they will know you and give it an extra hurry to come to the rescue.
Pour gas or solvent down first and work it with a broom then put floor dry on it.
jack-hammer....
degreaser. is good
Use cat litter (the Clay Kind) as an absorbent and a shop broom, you wont get it all but it will dry it up, some auto stores Pep Boys and the like have other spill dryers you can purchase.
cat litter
Try brake cleaner, they use it in the garage where I work all the time to clean up spillages.
by simply purchasing some EOS efforescence cleaner or EOS all purpose cleaner $165. per 5 gl. pail.
Try some stuff called "Gunk" ...its good , i use it...then some good washing up liquid and some boiling water and scrub with a yard broom.... ( and get your husband an oil tray for next time ..lol )
hi i work in a petrol station and to get it of your drive you need something called formula one it comes in a black bottle and you only need a tiny bit mixed with water watch it on your hands though it not very nice but will do the job perfectly x
I run an auto repair center so deal with this daily.

If you have a big liquid spill use cat litter to soak it up (remember to dispose of this properly...it is now toxic waste.)

Plain old laundry soap is best for cleaning the greasy floor though....way better than the expensive stuff we used to buy.

I like the powdered laundry soap from Sears.
Burn it :)
Cat litter, but not the expensive kind. Plain clay type, pour some on then take a 2x4 and grind it back and forth over the litter and spot as though you were sanding the area. Then clean up litter and dispose.
Go to a benjamin moore paint store and buy some emulsifier. It's like soap in a concentrated form and when you scrub the oily areas, it will break down the oils and turn it into a sudsy solution that you can wash off with a hose. It's about $30.00 a gallon but it will last you a long time for future use.
cheap 2 ltr bottle of coke from ur local super store pour it over it & rub with a stiff broom
what was diesel oil doing in the gearbox in the first place? I reckon the van is buggered.
As for the stain a product that should do the trick is Gunk engine cleaner.
