I think you need to run the PV power line all the way back to your main power panel, with some kind of way to disengage your PV system from the utility's lines.
If not, you could potentially send power up their lines and injure one of their workers who might be working on a nearby equipment - thinking their lines are off. If you 'energize' their lines and injure someone, you could be liable.
Consult with an electrician or your power utility on how they want you to isolate & tie-in your PV system to their power grid.
