When you say "girls have feathered backs but the male moth had all feathered wings," how do you know which is the girl and which is the male?
it is not a moth. They don't have feathers. you may be seeing hummingbirds. the male is very colorful, the female is usuallly pale greyish brownish.. they will light on certain women, but usually stear clear of men. A woman i know cannot go out side without attracting several of them..
