Murphy's Law. Which is why I wonder I see so much bird poop on my windshield, but no birds; why I get into a shorter line at a store or bank and wait even longer; why I change lanes only to be tail-gated by a semi; or, why am I here anyway?

The rain and clothes relation was put forward by another guy called Sod, kind of like a refinement to the original law.
Maybe mother nature thinks that you didn't get all the soap rinsed out
I don't know but please put your washing out every day, possibly overnight, because we need more rain.
Snap! I'm the same! So reassure yourself, it's not just you. I bet there are thousands of people out there to whom it happens as well. It is not a curse within ourselves but ... The weather system, freak showers that seem to wait patiently until the last of our washing hangs out to dry ... Not! But you know i persist! Left it last night and this morning, brilliant sunshine ... it's still drying but i'm keeping my eyes on the clouds, first sign or rain! I'll battle the elements to bring it back in so there!
same reason it rains when you forget to roll up your car windows or right after you wash your car..
