i want to know about a house that has a water tank below the house that cools the entire house?

this cooling system was designed by an architect

Answers:
It sounds like a geothermal system. They cost more up front, but they use a lot less power.

Other answers:
Well, it is July, go look at the house and see how well it is working.

I know there are many ways to cool a house. Water is one of them. There has been talk of taking great lake water to cool buildings. The bottom of the great lakes is like 38 degrees.

The water systems was put there to save money on energy.

In the winter...
Heat is absorbed from the ground or groundwater and carried to the geothermal unit via an underground piping system or well. The heat is transferred to the air, which is distributed through duct work similar to that used in any forced air heating system.

In the summer...
The unit provides central air conditioning by rejecting heat from your home. A portion of the heat can be used to produced hot water, while the remainder is pumped back to the underground piping or well system, where it harmlessly dissipates into cooler ground/water.
My brother bought some fairly remote property in the Sierra Mts that has no electrical service to it. He plans on building a cabin on the property and someone told him about the underground water system. In fact, it not only cools during the summer, it heats during the winter. The temperature deep below ground stays pretty consistent whether the temperature outside is in the teens or in the nineties. Whether they work or not, I have no idea.
