Kreepy Krauly. Best suction side cleaner I've ever found. Most reliable. Easiest to repair. Cheapest replacement parts, etc.

Ronald,
We have had no problems with our Barracuda (we call him "Critter").
It is six years old now and still works fine. Do you remember to shut down the other skimmers so the full suction of the pump is directed to your Barracudas connection. We always have our main drain closed and I have learned to close the second skimmer valve almost all the way.

Kreepy krauly buy it you wont be disappointed.
Suction-side autocleaners are very simple in design. Because of this not much can go wrong with them. If they have the proper flow of water through them they should work fine. I would recommend that you confirm the proper flow prior to buying a new cleaner. If the flow is the root of your problems then a new cleaner will just waste your money.
Look for air bubbles in the pump basket to determine if there are air leaks in the hose, connections or o-rings. Confirm the filter is clean and operating properly. Determine that the entire system is free of blockages. Some sources of blockages might include closed valves, eyeballs/returns too small, scale buildup in the heater, clogged baskets in skimmer/pump, ect. If all this checks out then investigate the pump's performance.
