Most cities and/or counties have an online search option for the Property Appraisers Office. You can get a tax history and an estimated tax for the upcoming year, and print it out.
Not all towns / counties offer this, but most do.

Go online or go to your public court tax records.
Call your local town's assessor's office and ask for a copy of your assessment (including annual taxes), and how much was paid - they will get it to you. You can get the number in the phone book, or call town hall and ask.
Do a web search including the dity and state you're in. You should receive a website like Maryland.gov, for example that will lead you to the correct answer.
go to the auditors site for your county and state. you should be able to find out what your past taxes were on your property usually need street address or parcel number. this is new to me since i just bought some land this spring in Ohio
