buying a pot for plants?
Answers:
If a plant pot does not have a hole in the bottom the plant will eventually be so clogged up with water that it will rot and die.
When you buy a new pot with a hole, place 3 or 4 medium sized stones in it (not blocking the hole) then put some new earth and then the plant with its existing earth, this will help the excess water to drain off and the plant will be healthy.
You can buy a pot plate to put under the pot, but I often use an old, pretty dish to put under it to catch the excess water, if you don't have any that you can spare, you can always buy one cheaply from a thrift shop - they look much nicer than a plastic one.
The plant pots that don't have a hole are usually used to put an existing pot inside them, they are purely for decorative purposes for those people who do not have to repot a plant.
Hope this helps.

Your pot must always have a vent / hole. You can place this in a clay plate. Not that u r not aware - alovera goes well with adverse conditions and hence you need not water it often. I have lots of these (ofcourse outdoor) which water twice a week only
you need a plate for underneath the pot, but you also need to place mulch in the bottom of the pot before you put the plant in & top it up with soil. This is also a great way to preserve water. You dont need to water your plants to the point of them being drenched so that water dribbles out of the bottem, just water so that the soil is damp :o) Happy gardening :o)
