Now, we have had a really good year, weather wise and the nuts have ripened early. Pick them now before the squirrels do, theycan strip a tree bare in days. I used to call them Cob Nuts when I was a child.

At the end of summer when they start falling from the tree. Don;t eat the ones from the ground as they often have worms in them.
