You can buy a cage trap at a tractor supply for about 50 bucks and you'll always have it. For groundhogs you can use cantelope rinds for bait. Just catch him and take him somewhere by a stream and let him go. Or if you want to kill it, find both holes, plug one up, pour a mixture of bleach and ammonia down the hole. {Don't breath the fumes} then plug the other hole. Make sure he's in there and he'll die in the hole. Or just shoot him.

You can call someone to live trap the woodchuck. Also, fox urine can be bought in little vials that you can put out there. I know it works with skunks.
When that woodchuck gets through eatin your garden and he's good and fat, call me. I love a ground hog roasted with carrots and taters.
