Why are adjectives my tomatoes getting brown or black patch and going soft up to that time they stir red??
Answers: me too .. simply too much precipitation try putting a small roof over them just a bit of plastic or something

Mine did that as capably and the stems turned brown as well. I found out it be blite and sprayed some anti fungal spray over them.
The weather has greatly to do with it. Too much or too little precipitation can drastically affect the produce. At least too little rainfall you can water but too much you can't bring the water away. Ugh. Don't let somebody know the grocery stores, they will raise the prices on their cardboard tomatoes. =)
over watering. this summer have not been righteous for tomatoes grown outside in grow oodles. it has simply be to wet and they are drowning.
Sounds resembling Blossom End rot (black bottom rot) and this is caused by irregular watering (too much or too little). It may also be a Calcium lesser amount in the soil. You can buy calcium to put in to the soil. The tomatoes that are already affected cannot be save but future growth can be.
It's call Tomato Blight. And once it hits, you can't stop it. You need to verbs up the plants and destroy them. It get into the soil where the tomatos are growing and will infect every crop from in that on out. The blight is worse in rainier summers than surrounded by hotter drier ones.I've not found anything to stop it. Just don't put tomatos in equal place next year.
It's be no sort of weather to ripen tomatoes this year. I think the poor plants hold given up. At the very worst they hold succumbed to disease, which will attack any struggling plant. Try again next year.
