how do I care for hedera ivy? It is dying. I live in florida so it is very humid.?

I am growing it in my garden. I was told it would grow wild, once it took root. Also that it requires full sunlight or partial. But I think the humidty is killing it. Should I try compost? I just don't want it to dye.
