I have painful bug bites on my leg from working in my garden, I suspect jiggers. What's the best remedy?
Answers:
Fingernail polish is a good remedy. What causes the skin to react to the bite is not the actual chigger mite itself, but it's saliva. The larvae use their saliva to break down, or dissolve the hosts skin so it can get blood. Once the chigger has taken it's blood meal, it drops off of you and begins it's transition into an adult. Something in the nail polish reacts with the enzymes from the chigger which alleviates the itching. If you have a red, itchy welt, the chigger is already gone. But don't worry. If it dropped off while in your house, the adults won't bother you.

Alovera lotion.
Preparation H - yes, it's designed for hemmerhoids, which itch and burn just like chigger bites. It has a topical anesthetic and an anti-itch ingredient. Any hemmerhoid cream will do.
try some mint based powder, you'll feel less pain. also spray your limbs and cloths with sulfur, it will kill any parasites left.
If they have dug under your skin and laid eggs, that is what they do, and the skin is nit broken. out clear fingernail polish on them or spray a thick coat of spray on the bit, and this will suffocate them and they will crawl right out. but if the skin is broken just but on neosporin with pain reliver.
If you mean chiggers, the best solution is nail polish over the bite, believe it or not. What's happened is, the chiggers have laid eggs underneath your skin. By painting nail polish over the bite, you deprive them of oxygen, and it heals quicker.
Is it chiggers or jiggers?? if it is chiggers then use calamine lotion to smother than ...
I have had chigger bites. picked them up at a picnic. I did not know what it was. i had to go the a dermatologist because it got so bad. he said chiggers, i did not know what that was. he gave me an injection, started feeling better immediately, some prescription cream and told me to apply wash cloths dipped in white vinegar and water. it really took the sting out. everything disappeared pretty quick.
