How can I find out online the history of the house I live in?

Answers:
I go to my county's property tax website and do a search by folio number or owners name or address.
Once there I can view anyone's taxes - paid or not,
also square footage and general description
owner's address - if different
The Accessed value minus any tax credits
What the property sold for Last time sold
etc etc etc
and a nice satelite photo - too

Other answers:
it's only online if someone bothered to put it there. Your older neighbors would know more.

you probally cant online you have to go to your county court house or wherever the records are kept .next time you pay your property taxes.their are open records you can see who even built your house.
You probably can't, but if you visit your local county courthouse, you can search the recorders and/or assessor's office for information about previous owners. If your house is an historic house, you might want to check with your community's local historic society.
