how do we stop skunks from tearing up our yard? we've put down grub killer 3 times?

skunks are destroying our yard by digging for grubs. We've used grub X to try to kill the grubs but the skunks are still digging, the neighbor seen 9 the other morning.

This is not a joke, have your husband, pee over the yard. He is marking his territory and they won't come back. It works for us. Not sure if female pee will work, but it was easier for him than me.

It must smell horrible back there sometimes..

hehe, the husband pee is cute and logical...but you should be getting traps for them. They have humane traps that are like $15 a piece and some animal control depts. will lend them to you for free. Skunks cant lift their tails in them. Skunks love peanut butter or dog food as bait. Once trapped drop em off some where far or have animal control do it. Living in the woods of New Hampshire we are used to these critters, and find this effective. Once a family of skunks is gone they wont be more for a couple of years.
do what I did go buy a trap at a hardware place like home depot and trap them, after 3 catches, no more.
The problem with traps is that the skunk will spray when you attempt to move it...and it is disgusting. Throw a blanket over the trap and wrap it completely around the trap before you put it in the car. When you have it safely in the car you have 2 choices. First, take it round to the neighbor you least like and set it free in his yard, or, second (and best) drive to Crawford, TX and set it free there. The second option is better because the smell is already very bad in Crawford.
Call your town clerk to check laws in your area about trapping. In some places it is illegal! Then call your animal control department, explain the problem they will either give you advice or come to your house and trap the skunks for you! Relocating them.
put used cat litter around the yard and he will stay away
The urine of one of their natural predators such as coyote might work. It is available at some stores and online. If they still come around go to traps or preferrably animal control. Sure you can trap him yourself, but who's going to want to approach a trapped skunk? You will get sprayed.
