Any input on using salt vs. chlorine in outdoor swimming pool?

windancer and I are going to be butting heads on the salt generator issue, I can see. I think he may have had bad experiences with the older (over 10 yrs ago) units. I've dealt with those too and yes, they were terrible. It's different now. Windancer is correct in that you aren't eliminating chlorine by going salt. You are just recycling it, so to speak.
I have had nothing but positive feedback from customers that went the salt route and the pools I was responsible for weekly service that were salt, reduced my workload by half and the customer's operating costs, by half. They use very little current to operate. The salt used is extremely inexpensive. The effect overall on your water balance is just about nil, requiring less to keep your Ph and TA in check. Saving money yet again. Salt water pools are friendlier to people that have issues with bromine, ozone or normal chlorine pucks. You don't float any differently (salinity is only 1 /300th that of a human tear, you can barely taste it) You don't need to test salinity, contrary to what windancer has said, all of the units these days are self monitoring and display current across the cell, water temperature and salinity at the very least as well as a hi or lo salt warning.Check out Aqua Rite's unit, it's the best out there in my opinion from a service, reliability and effeciency stand point. what type of cavity wall insulation? if there are any options.?
