My wife and I have had this problem in two of our new homes in North Eastern Florida over the past 3 years. Our pest guy (from Term***x) has no idea what these things are. Tiny black / sand colored jumping bugs that come out at night and infest our carpet and tile floor. They are about the size of this period ( . ) Even with a magnifying glass it if very difficult to make out their features. I can say for sure they have small antenna and best discription I can give is they look like tiny long beatles that jump. They do not look like any type of fleas I have ever seen. If there are any native North Floridians in the HomeABC.net house, I am sure they would have a good idea as we are assuming they are common because we also had a similar problem in a different house a few years ago in the same area of North Florida.

I am from Gainesville and I am almost positive that what you are seeing are "sand fleas". Thay are also known as No-see-ums and punkies. Take a look at this site and see if it might be this.
