Shouldn't everyday be Earth Day?

I think people who celebrate Earth Day are hypocrites! You get in your car, drive to whatever celebration you are going to, party there and create garbage, get back in your car and drive home where you use electricity and create more garbage. What is the difference from any other day?

NO I HAVE AN OPPOSING OPINION ON UR QUESTION IF EVERY DAY WAS EARTH DAY IT WOULD NOT HAVE ANY MEANING IN THE FIRST FEW DAYS PEOPLE WOULD BE EXCITED ABOUT THINGS AND THEN LIFE WOULD RUN BACK TO NORMAL DAYS ARE GIVEN SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE SO MUCH PREPARATION GOES INTO THE CELEBRATION AND CAMPAIGNING SO JUST FORGET CELEBRATING EVERY DAY AS EARTH DAY. AS ONE CANNNOT CELEBRATE EVERY DAY AS BIRTHDAY SO WITH EARTHDAY
Actually I don't know I just found out what earth day is about.
Most definately!! If there's one thing that upsets me, it's seeing the remains of ignorant people littering.
That's what I've always thought. Why should we just have ONE day dedicated to keeping the earth clean? The Earth isn't going to get any better if we clean up after ourselve just ONE day a year- it would be better if we did it EVERY day of th year. To me, this kidna kinda falls along the same line as the whole "Mother's-/"Father's-/Grandpar... Day" thing too. Why should we dedicate ONE day a year to show our love and appreciation to our Mother/Father/Grand-parents? Shouldn't we be showing them our love and appreciation for them 24/7? Personally, I think this is one of those stupidn and pointless things that have gotten out of hand.
I agree. There shouldn't only be one day that people clean up the earth. People shouldn't only clean up because of the day. If everybody took good care of the earth, then there wouldn't be as much pollution or global warming for instance!

In my book, everyday is Earth day. I recycle and pick up trash and do volunteer work every day of the year, and every Earth day i just plant a new tree in either my backyard or the park down the way. Just make a little effort to help out and every day can be Earth day. And in regards to what someone said about having Earth Day be about parties and whatnot. Well, I think it's wrong to tell everyone what they do. You don't know that, and i've never gone to a party for Earth day. Earth day is about celebrating life, not driving to people's houses and drinking and littering. So, geez, perk up a little. Not everyone who celebrates Earth day walks around dropping cigarettes and beer cans everywhere.
