How do I get rid of moles and their tunnels in my yard? Short of a professional.?

Try a concoction of tobasco sauce {the hotter the better} dishwashing liquid and some water.{adding a little bleach wont hurt.}..pour it down the holes.{the smell of the concoction will eventually make them leave their holes. Pour it in all of them you can see...My grandpa use to sit and wait for them to start digging through the holes, then he'd flip them out and kill them. A cat would help...for the holes you've already got, you'll just have to put dirt back in them. Grubs work good too.

When i was little we had them all through our yard. I remember we dumped decon in the hole to get rid of the moles, and then we filled in the holes to prevent accidents.

Use the exhaust from your car, lead it through a pipe (or whatever), to the holes. This will kill them, since it takes the oxygen, and they will die from lack of O2 - This method will work for sure, and has always done, All though, I'm against killing animals :P
Get a cat! Had problems with moles, but when my cat arrived, they went. I think he left a scent around the holes, and they have never come back - been mole free for 3 years (but there are plenty in the surounding area - but no longer in my garden
Holey Moley! you could get a dog or i have heard of little worms/grubs that are bred with poison that the moles eat and die...
I have heard of a couple ways to get rid of moles. One is to poke a hole in the tunnel and drop a Castor bean down there, Castor beans are poisonous and hard to come by. In the south they are plentiful. Then there is the stuff that you spread on you lawn to kill the grubs. The grubs are what they are trying to eat, which turn into Beatles, maybe Japanese Beatles. There again, it is poisonous. My method is to let my Rat Terriers dig them out.. eventually they leave but then you have dogs that are encouraged to dig. Hmmm no real good answer, maybe call you could call your local Cooperative Extension Office. Blessings, Ann
not sure if this may work but worth a try. A much respected elderly mmber of my family once told me that back in the days before extermination was available she says that if you put a pipe in thw tailpipe of you car while it is running and extend the pipe into the entrance of the mole hole and leave it running for 10 minutes or so that the vibration will run them out of the area. like i said it is not full proof but worth a try.
