How to inexpensively build a granny unit on my property?
Answers:
Perhaps a small modular factory built and delivered unit could provide greater value for the money.
or www.eplans.com has a few small units.
I am always looking for small inexpensive DIY house plans.
I do remember seeing an interesting one online something to do with FEMA and a proposed frame house for the Katrina refugees to use while rebuilding. I don't think it has been used, but it looked like a good option.
Some very useful materials can be purchased used from local demolition companies.

I saw a program once on television that showed a program in Canada where you have a cement slab with the utilities already in place. The small granny house was about your size and brought in on a truck and set down. It was not a trailer but probably built like they are today (many are quite nice). When the grandmother passed on, the building could be lifted off and sold to someone else.
