How do I stop mice from getting in my birdseed?

Answers:
I have found that metal trash cans work very well. They are inexpensive too about 10 bucks on sale. This will not only keep the mice out but larger animals as well. Good luck!

Other answers:
Place rat poison in a circle around you birdseed or use special sticky paper made for catching mice.

1. Use a funnel and transfer the birdseed to milk jugs.
2. Get a plastic storage tub big enough for the sack of birdseed.
3. Get a metal footlocker at a flea market (or buy a new one).
4. Get two cats. They are wonderful pets and they will delight in keeping mice out of your birdseed. I suggest two because cats are lonely if they don't have another cat to be friends with.
5. You could set mousetraps, but they don't love you like a cat.
6. D-con will get them, but, like mousetraps, it won't love you.
7. The small trash can idea that others suggested is a good one, except that trash cans aren't very loving, either.
store it in a metal trash can with lid
I put mine in a small trash can with a lid. Seems to work.
Keep the seed in a bag, in a metal container, like a tin breadbasket or clean garbage can. Mice can't climb up those things.
get a rubbermaid trash can with lid or rubbermaid storage container and put the seed in that

this is what i use and no problems yet
I put mine in large plastic tupperware containers and keep it sealed out in the garage. To keep mice out of the garage, I use a product called TomCat available at the Lowes home improvement stores. They eat it, go drink water somewhere (usually at my neighbors birdbath) and croak. Its working because I no longer see the mice, their turds or their little dead bodies and my birdseed is safe for my feathered friends.
There isn't much you can do about it if it's on the ground. If you try to lay down poison you run the risk of poisioning the birds your trying to feed.
