I am moving to a new house soon and don't know how to decide on a gas/electricity supplier. Crewe area.?

ask the new neighbors before moving in. Get the low down on service carriers and cost per kw/hr etc..ask them if you can see a bill from the winter and from the summer. If there house is similar to yours, this will give you a great idea of what to expect.
Also, ask them about their furnace,dryer,stove & oven, etc..
In most cases, with gas being so costly, your best bet financially is electric.Gas is overrated and isn't that efficient. If you use an electric dryer for clothes, it is running on a 220 line. This doesn't mean that it is using twice the power as normal appliances. In all actuallity, if you use a toaster oven that plugs in a normal outlet, chances are you are using more electric to operate it than the clothes dryer. If you use a gas dryer you still need to supply electric for the blower and electronics.

Chances are you don't have a choice- unless you have Propane gas, if that the case order from the cheapest one,
Many people don't have a choice. Try chopping wood in the winter and finding shade in summer while harvesting food.Get over yourself
Its cheaper if you can get both from the same company. Most companies do special offers if you do that.
Try scottish power, i found them to be reasonable, no problems with changeover and cheaper than npower

Scottish power does gas and electric. If you have both on the same bill they give you a discount. worth a try.
