I have ants getting into everything. They like sugar and cat food, I guess I have two kinds.?
Answers:
Cheap and easy remedy that works. Purchase some 20 Mule Team Borax laundry soap, and go to the dollar store and buy one of the cheapo ketchup squirt bottles, put the laundry soap in the squirt bottle and disperse it along baseboards, base of the kitchen cabinets, anywhere you see the ants, leave it lay for a few days until you no longer see any ants, they will carry it back to their nests and it will kill all of them. When you no longer see any ants vacuum up the Borax soap. Has worked like a charm for me for years.

Put your sugar, cat food, etc. and wash your floors and surfaces with bleach once a week.
If it doesn't work, I'll sit on the curb and bark like a dog.
You know what's really bizarre (and I tried this to find it true) is that ants will not cross a heavy chalk line. Frickin' bizarre watching them & wondering what the hell I'm doin'!
You have a serious ant problem. Chances are that they are entering in places that you can't anticipate for "do it yourself" remedies. Call a professional to take care of the job. (Antimite, Terminix, etc...) It won't cost much, and they'll keep coming out for free until the problem is resolved. Good Luck.
spray the corners like really alot
Simple... drop turmeric powder on, where the ants are more (i.e. group). In seconds they will disappear.
My own thinking is to NOT get the house sprayed. Sure they claim to be safe .... but you mentioned a cat. Spraying pesticides is not the answer.
I like the lemon, tumeric, maybe other herbs and those natural ideas .... and it would be easy to do and smell pretty good too. I don't know where you'd want to draw the line of chalk if the ants are inside, but it works very well outdoors.
If you go with the bleach (and I do suspect that would work well - ants are looking for food, not bleach) and for any reason it doesn't work, Please, PLEASE, let us know when we can expect to see that Sexy Trojan on the curb barking.
