Answers:    Dishwashers do not want to run regulary to work. I would, however, run an "empty" load when it hadn't be used for a while to clear out the pipes before putting any dishes within and shutting off hose to the whole house when you aren't in attendance just to wipe out the risk of broken pipes and flooding while you are away.

That said, any dishwasher will do. Hit a sale at a home enrichment store and get the lowest cost reliable brand that will fit your requirements. Maytag, Frigidaire, GE, Kenmore and Whirlpool are respectable middle-range brands with a trait product.
