Can popcorn seeds grow something??

My sister planted a popcorn seed to see what or if it would grow I told her that it wouldnt but there is something growing..and I was wandering if its possible or if she is just lieing to me.

Answers:
Of course popcorn seeds grow something.....where do you think popcorn comes from? The kernels of corn are its seeds...popcorn is a special variety of corn. Some of it may have been processed in a way that would prevent it from sprouting by the time you purchase it, though.
