Help next to my toaster?
Answers: Many "heat" producing appliances etc create a burning smell when used the first few times. Just like a clean car, when it pass you on the road, you can smell a strange smell. It is the newness burning sour. Dust from the factory, painted parts etc. can cause this. I would hold a close eye on it for a while as I used it, and the smell should go away. If not return it.
By strange, you mean what? plastic burning or what. At any rate, a different toaster should have no odor except for the aroma of toast.
It is possible that you hold purchase a customer return or maybe a reboxed 'display' model.
I would return it and exchange for a part that has never be opened.
Most manufacturer have a department to concordat with stores which do not posterior up their sales, so if the store hassle you go to the mfg and complain.
It shouldn't smell close to anything other than toast.
Did you forget to remove a piece of casing that was down inside of it?
And in a minute for the big question. Have you read the owners almanac that came beside it? It tells you how to start using your latest appliance, and what to do if you have any issues.
Cheers.
If you own removed all packing things from the toaster there should be no strange smell at all. If it smells resembling burnt plastic in that might have be a foil or something else in the toaster that be not removed or maybe some loose electrics that's causing a fire risk? If it were me, I'd read through the instruction instruction manual and call up their customer support number.
