What do you put around the border of your house to keep insects out?
I dont want to knock them down because Im afraid they will come inside.
I heard you can put sulfur or something like that around the edges of your house and keeps insects out. Is that true?
Answers:
There is not a "Home Remedy" that is known to repel spiders away from a house, yet by treating for the insects the spiders are eating you may reduce the number of spiders around your home. By killing off the food supply for the spiders, the spiders will find another place to live. It might also be helpful to change your outside lights to yellow bug lights. That will help reduce the flying insects the spiders are eating. If all else fails, calling an exterminator might be what you need to do. (By the way, garden spiders are beneficial to the enviroment, so might want to find a person to catch them and let them go in the woods away from your house)

Spiders outside your home will help keep out insects...because they eat them. I wouldn't worry about the spiders. Leave them alone and they won't bother you either.
To keep crawling insects (like ants) out of the house you can spread cayenne pepper around the bottoms of your doorways and windows. Works like a charm.
BTW...spiders aren't insects. They're arachnids.

I don't know about sulfur but another remedy you can try is put moth balls under the house if possible. Also sprinkle ammonia around the outside of the house.Ammonia and moth balls are both fairly cheap.
