My lawn tractor, Model Q14542B, will not start, What's Wrong?
Answers:
Try pulling the fly wheel off and replacing the key it might be sheared , that would cause the fly wheel to just spin out of time throwing off the spark. that would would be my first check. then I would check the points and condenser if it is so equipped which it is that old is no doubt has. then the fuse, then, solenoid, etc.

Frigidaire made lawn tractors?! wow! , anyway - have you tried changing the spark plug for a new one?

Spark, fuel, and timing are the basics for gas engines...start with those 3 .
pull the spark plug clean or replace check too see if you are out of gas and so on
A 2000 certainly has no points, and if nothing was hit.... wouldn't be the flywheel key. Ohv engine? Does it spin fine and freely through all the revolutions? Then it shouldn't be the valve's in need of adjustment......
How have you checked for spark? the old pull the plug out and ground it and turn the engine over and watch for a blue snap?
I beleive it may be a kill switch right now.... take the engine shround off and pull the kill wire off the coil and then check for spark again. If you still get no spark, then coil is the problem (after a new plug just to make sure) if it gets spark, its one of the kill switches..... theres one for the clutch/brake, on for the deck and the one that usually goes out.... the seat.
