Depends how ornate and how older. I paid over a thousand pounds for one 10 years ago.
It's worth exactly what someone would foot for it. Depends on it's condition, size, attractiveness etc.

It is worth, as has be said, whatever it is worth to somebody else, trade those will pay between 25 and 50% of its expediency, something like this is other more likely to return with a good price sold privately, I would suggest e-bay, askyourneighbour, downwiththehammer, or auction house.
